last night pants and i loaded up the kids with lap blankets and travel mugs of hot chocolate, and took them out for a drive to see the christmas lights in our area. we drove down to newport beach near the water and checked out some fancy neighborhoods with some killer light displays, then hopped a ferry over to balboa island to see some more.the kids were really into seeing the lights, and sharkey kept saying, 'holy christmas!' while sky would yell out 'those lights are EXTREME!' it was really fun. i think we will go again next week and walk around near the waterfront so we can see all the boats decked out with holiday color. and i don't mind saying the best part was that sharkey fell asleep on the drive home!
